Final Fantasy VIII SeeD Test & Rank

Receiving Gil in Final Fantasy VIII is different from any title before, or after. Usually you would get a certain amount of money after every fight, not in Final fantasy VIII. In this game, you get a set amount of money every 1/2 hour, depending on your SeeD level. Until you graduate in the beginning of the game, you will not get paid. Once you do graduate, you will get paid 500Gil, for your SeeD rank of 1. To raise your SeeD rank, you will need to pass the tests given in Squall's study panel.
The tests consist of ten questions/ level. If you miss a question, you will not pass the test. Worry not, you can immediately take the test over, and there is no penalty for getting an answer wrong.
But there are other factors, that can easily raise or drop your rank. Certain decisions you make, the amount of enemies you defeat, completing certain tasks, etc. can raise your rank. Things like playing Triple Triad while on assignment will drop your rank. So you need to be a bit careful. Like the military...they do not mind you goofing off, as long as it is not on their time.
