After losing his parrents to a plague, and his brother Reks to the treachery of the war, Vaan has become a street wanderer. He works odd jobs for money, and is looked after by Migelo. He and Penelo have a close bond, and are almost always together. He dreams one day of becoming a Sky Pirate, and enjoy a life of such.

Penelo is Vaan's best friend, though she sees him more as a brother to her. Her parents took him in, after he lost his parents, and they grew up together. Now they both are looked after by Migelo. Penelo sees great leadership qualities in Vaan, though he has yet to see them for himself. She is willing to follow him wherever life takes him.

Fran is Viera, and has an intense sensitivity to the mist. It will affect her drastically, and can make her a force to reckon with. Fran is the loyal partner of fellow sky pirate Balthier. With her top notch mastery of weapons, she is also a great mechanic. Longing to learn of the greater world, she abandoned her forest home, and sought out greater meaning. But has she truly lost the voice of her home?

Ashe is the daughter of the Dalmascan King, and heir to the throne. She first lost her husband, and then her father was betrayed and murdered. It was said she had taken her own life out of grief of her losses. But there is rumor that she has resurfaced, and has a resistance in her blood. As the descendant of the Dynast King, she will surely seek the vengeance she deserves.

Basch was a great leader in Dalmasca. Captain of the order of knights, he swore to protect the king at all costs. The official word is that Basch assassinated the king, when he saw the attempt to gain peace with Archadia. But is this the truth, or is it false?

	Reks is a volonteer soldier for the Dalmascan army, who was sent to protect the King, while the treaty signing was underway. He was murdered there, while trying to stop the assassination of his majesty. When Vaan hears of his brothers murder, he vows to do anything to stop Archadia.

Lord Larsa seems to be the only Solidor not tainted with greed and deception. His sole purpose it would seem is to bring back peace to the nations of Ivalice. His meetings with Minister Ondore bring him into the company of Lady Ashe. He then seeks her aide in the effort for peace.

Vossler has ever been the protector of her majesty Lady Ashe. When she was pronounced dead, he went on trying to find a way to free Dalmasca. Over time, he grew into a man of hate and spite, and though the intentions were good, the path he was taking was the wrong one. When he was reunited with the Lady Ashe, he once again took position of her guardian. But will he truly protect her, or lead her into more danger?

Reddas is the "leader" of the port of Balfonheim. He has been in communications with Al-Cid, as well as Larsa, and is well aware of the party's plight. He assists them in the in finding the location of and ascent into the Ridoran Cataract. He is determined to also find the means to win the war with the Archadian Empire.

Important Characters

Montblanc is the leader and the creator of the Clan Centurio. This is a place, where one can earn money and prizes for marks that are above those of normal marks. These marks are terrible beasts, that plague the lands and the people. It is not certain as to Montblanc's true reason for beginning this hunter's club, but it is almost certain it is something of "Epic" proportions.

The Marquis Halim Ondore IV has ever been the ally and friend of King Raminas.He now seems to hold loyalty to the Archadian Empire. He has recorded most of what has transpired since the invasion of Dalmasca, and chronicled Lady Ashe's death, as well as Basch's betrayal and execution, for the m murder of his close friend King Raminas.

Al-Cid is one of the ruling family members of the Dalmasca's neighboring countries, Rozzaria. They have been a constant enemy of the Empire, and now fear with the taking of Dalmasca, they might be the next target. He has secretly been meeting with hidden people of power, in an attempt to keep this from happening, and to see Lady Ashe return to her people.

Dr. Cid is the head of Archadia's Draklor Laboratories. He is primarily responsible for the creation of Manufactured Nethicite. This has been proven to be a catastrophic weapon, as was vied with the tragic destruction of Nabudis. His insanity seems to almost be driven by another person, but who is the question. There is some unknown tie between the party, and the good Dr.

The imperial house of Solidor has been in ruler ship of Archadia for centuries. The remaining family members are Emperor Granis, and his two sons Vayne, and Larsa. Emperor Granis rules Archadia, and resides in its capital City of Archadia. His third eldest son Vayne is now the Consul-Govenor of Dalmasca, but thirsts for even more power. The rumor is he had his two older brothers assassinated, to gain more power. The youngest son Larsa seems to be the only one with no longing for personal power and gain. He seems to be seeking peace for everyone in the world.

The Imperial Senate has been in the background of the Archadian Empire, as well as house Solidor for generations. Their intent is to place the rule of Archadia into the hands of the young Larsa, who seems more fit to rule than his older brother. This goes against the normal succession being the eldest son, and goes against the plans of the son Vayne. This decision could easily spell their doom.

The Judges of the Archadian Empire are the elite guard and chief arbiters and enforcers of the laws. They are also responsible for many extremely shady events going on behind the scenes. Their sense of honor is long gone, and they will stop at nothing to please the one in power. Even if it means the death of the royal family.
